Adobe Reader is a great program that lets you read and print from any system any document created as an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file, with its original appearance preserved. PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as the author intended by anyone with Adobe Reader. As the low-end PDF reader, it simply keeps up with Acrobat Professional and Standard. Adobe Reader has the ability to play back embedded multimedia files in MP3, QuickTime, Macromedia Flash, Real, and Windows Media formats, as well as to submit Adobe PDF forms. It also replaces some of the icons in the default interface with optional, dockable toolbars. You might as well install this now before a Web site you visit prompts you to download it.

A very nice feature you have available in Adobe Reader when adding comments is the ability to paste any information you copy to the clipboard as a Stamp comment. You can copy a body of text, an image, or take screen shot. The screen shot option is particularly helpful if you need to get some tech support from an IT department.

The latest version of Adobe Reader has a completely reworked interface, with streamlined menus and toolbars. A lot of the functions now live in expandable task panes neatly organised on the right hand side of the window.
